Extreme Rules 2022: Final results for October PPV

The WWE returned to pay-per-view this weekend with Extreme Rules coming from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The show featured numerous matches with stipulations and a major title changed hands. We got an exciting Fight Pit match in the main event and a shocking return afterwards.

Here are the final results from Extreme Rules 2022:

Oh wait, a wild Bray Wyatt has appeared!

After weeks of “White Rabbit” Easter Egg vignettes, Bray Wyatt finally returned to the WWE to a thunderous ovation from the Philly crowd. We’ll see what he has in store and who he will target first upon his return.

Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins (Fight Pit match with Daniel Cormier as special guest referee)

Winner: Matt Riddle via submission

In the main event, Matt Riddle was able to successfully make Seth Rollins tap with the Triangle submission to win the Fight Pit match.

This came shortly after this…

Edge vs. Finn Balor (I Quit match)

Winner: Finn Balor

This was a long match but as expected, it had plenty of storytelling.

Midway through the match, the Judgement Day came out to interfere on Balor’s behalf and Rhea Ripley handcuffed Edge to the ring ropes. That brought out Rey Mysterio, who got the upperhand at first before being disposed of by Dominik Mysterio. Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix then came out and cleared the ring, getting the keys to free Edge from the handcuff.

Edge got the upperhand again before the Judgement Day got back on top. The match ended when Ripley threatened to deliver a Con-Chair-To to a downed Phoenix, prompting Edge to say “I Quit”. Even after he said the words, Ripley still delivered the crushing blow with the steel chair to Phoenix’s head.

Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley (Ladder match)

Winner: Bianca Belair

The EST era will continue on Raw as Bianca Belair successfully climbed the ladder to retrieve the belt and retain against Bayley.

Belair had to fight off Bayley, Iyo Shirai, and Dakota Kai at points throughout the match to survive. The match ended when Belair delivered a KOD to Bayley onto a ladder, shortly making her climb to victory afterwards.

Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross (Strap match)

Winner: Karrion Kross via pinfall

Kross picked up his first ppv victory by defeating Drew McIntyre in their strap match. The bout ended when Scarlett interrupted right as McIntyre was setting up for the Claymore and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. Kross would hit the former WWE champion with a Krosshammer for the win.

Smackdown Women’s Championship – Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey (Extreme Rules match)

Winner: Ronda Rousey via KO

The three-month reign of Liv Morgan is over. In a spirited Extreme Rules match that included bats, fire extinguishers, and tables, Ronda Rousey was able to emerge victorious to regain the Smackdown Women’s Championship for a second time.

The match ended when Rousey put Morgan into a submission and used the shards of a broken table for leverage. Morgan passed out, prompting the ref to ring the bell.

Smackdown Women’s title on the line next.

Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium (Donnybrook match)

Winner: Brawling Brutes via pinfall

This is up there as one of the best pay-per-view openers we’ve seen in quite some time. The match lived up to the hard-hitting violence that you probably imagined in your head. Both teams got their spots in and it ended when Sheamus hit Giovanni Vinci with a Brogue Kick for the win. Banger after banger after banger after banger.
