Shania started singing at bars at age 8 to try and help her family pay their bills and by the time she was 10 she’d already written her first songs: “Is Love A Rose” and “Just Like the Storybooks”.
She dedicated herself fully to music and left her family after she met John Kim Bell, who had contacts at the Canadian Country Music Association, with Twain beginning to garner attention for her voice, then unfortunately she had to place her career on hold due to her mother and stepfather dying in a tragic car accident, with Shania returning home to take care of her sisters.
