Accor, a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is proud to have enabled Kauli to fulfil his dream of surfing on the Seine against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, and that is how he celebrated winning gold on Tahiti’s legendary Teahupo’o wave with all the Olympic crowds in Paris.
Last Friday morning, at the end of the open water swimming marathon, Kauli Vaast set off to surf the Seine, gold medal around his neck.
He was watched by crowds of Parisians and tourists who had gathered on the banks of the Seine between Pont d’Alma and Pont d’Iena, under the gaze of the Eiffel Tower. They were in awe of Kauli Vaast’s talent and generosity as he came to celebrate his medal with them at the heart of Paris 2024.
