The Kwabenya Traditional Council in the GA East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has threatened to burn down the meeting place of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) group at Ahsongman.
ModernGhana understands that the group last Wednesday, February 17, 2021, had a meeting at Ashongman, a community within the Kwabenya District on the wayforward.
Informed of the meeting, the Kwabenya Traditional Council has vowed to halt the activities of the LGBT.
As part of measures taken, the Chiefs have launched an investigation into the matter to find out the exact house and the owner of the premises.
At a press conference, the PRO of the Traditional Council, Nii Mensah Dza Nyomo I has emphasized that the council will not hesitate to set the premises on fire once it is located.
“We won’t sit down for Kwabenya to gain a bad name that the LGBT meeting grounds or office is located in Kwabenya Ashongman. No way,” Nii Mensah Dza Nyomo I who is also the Kwabenya Musuku Manhene added.
Meanwhile, calls continue to grow for the closure of the LGBTI office which said to have been opened in Tesano, Accra.

The Kwabenya Traditional Council in the GA East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has threatened to burn down a house where it is alleged that the Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender LGBT, had a meeting last Wednesday at Ashongman, a community within the Kwabenya District.
The Chiefs said an investigation has been launched into the matter to find out the exact house and the owner of the premises.
PRO of the traditional Council who is also the Kwabenya Musuku manhene, Nii Mensah Dza Nyomo 1 said the council will not hesitate to set the premises ablaze after their investigations. “we won’t sit down for kwabenya to gain a bad name that the LGBT meeting grounds or office is located in kwabenya Ashongman. No way! He added”
This was said during a press conference organized by the kwabenya traditional council.
