RYANAIR CELEBRATES 30 YEARS AND 30 MILLION PASSENGERS AT PRESTWICK AIRPORT

Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 airline, has celebrated carrying 30 million passengers through Prestwick in its 30 years of operations. Ryanair was the first low-cost airline to operate at Prestwick, starting with its first flight from Dublin Airport back in 1994.

Ryanair now operates 10 routes to/from Prestwick, connecting 3 countries across Europe with its 2 Prestwick based aircraft – an investment of $200m and supporting over 500 local jobs, including 60 high-paid, high-skilled aviation jobs.

This Summer Ryanair is operating over 80 weekly flights to/from Prestwick, spanning 10 routes including Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Murcia, Pisa and Tenerife, providing customers with unbeatable choice at the lowest fares when booking their Summer ’24 getaways.

Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan said:

“We are delighted to celebrate 30 years and 30 million Ryanair passengers at Prestwick Airport. This significant milestone signifies Ryanair’s continued commitment, growth and investment at Prestwick, where Ryanair has operated since 1994. This Summer Ryanair is operating 80 weekly flights across 10 routes on our 2 Prestwick based aircraft – an investment of $200m and supporting over 500 local jobs.

We are proud to operate our Ryanair Training Centre in Prestwick, where we are training the next generation of aircraft mechanics and aircraft sheet metal workers with over 400 new trainees coming through our program each year.

We look forward to carrying millions more passengers on Ryanair’s low-fare flights to/from Prestwick over the years to come.”
