The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Palm Beach has opened Mercat, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant.
Mercat, which translates to “market” in the Catalan language, offers dishes from Spain, southern France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and Morocco. The restaurant, which has indoor as well as al fresco, oceanfront dining, seats up to 318 guests and offers buffet breakfast, and a la carte lunch and dinner.
It also offers an aperitivo social gathering at its bar and beachfront terrace from Mondays to Saturdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Lighting and music are programmed to shift with the daily atmosphere throughout the day.
Menu items include mussels a la Provencale, couscous paella, short-rib pasta with paccheri pasta and Moroccan chocolate cake.
The decor draws inspiration from the seas of the Caribbean and the Mediterranean with light and coastal notes, oversize marble tiles, teak pillars and live tropical plants. Overlooking Palm Beach, the terrace also offers larger wood tables for bigger groups.
Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has 414 guestrooms and suites, all with private balconies overlooking verdant landscapes and the Caribbean Sea, a fitness center, two pools including the H2Oasis adults-only pool and 10 restaurants and bars.
